Small but perfectly formed, this year's apple day is celebrating apples and orchards at the orchard area aloong Riverside Park. Entry is free.

There's no charge for the entry, but please bring along spare change for drinks, cakes and apple juice.
You do not need to book any of the Apple Day activities in advance. However, numbers on the guided walk are limited, so if you would like to join, please add your name to the list at the Wildlife Trust's information table on the day. This will help us ensure an enjoyable walk for everyone.
In the event of bad weather (heavy rain or strong winds), we may need to cancel this event as all activities are taking place outdoors.

If you have any surplus apples, you can donate them for pressing on the day.
The event is organised by the Wilder Luton team from BCN Wildlife Trust, Edible High Town, Luton Orchards, Penrose Roots and supported by many volunteers. This year's apple day is proudly part of Luton 150.

Past apple days
Past apple days
On Sat 18 October 2025, we celebrated our first Apple Day in decades in Luton this year - it was a small event on Stockingstone Meadow, at the bottom of Stockingstone Road. The photo shows my friend Sal staffing the apple tasting table. The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire greatly helped put the day together, and around 110 people attended.
