This is a rough guide of orchard maintenance activities and orchard-themed celebrations that help people and trees thrive throughout the orchard year.
Winter

Winter prune apples and pears between December and March

Remove fruit from young trees to ensure the energy goes into creating a strong tree (not fruit)
Harvest early varieties such as Discovery
Survey your orchard for health
Submit leaf samples for DNA testing (if it runs)
Autumn

Harvest, preserve and store
Take apple samples to an apple day or try identifying them yourself using fruitID
